There's a lot of people that i disagree with that i think i could have interesting conversations with. what i don't want to get into is manufactured conflict. i would much rather talk to someone like dr. rhonda patrick or randall carlson and be mesmerized by information. i guess in a way that's selfish, or maybe not objective of me. the older (and hopefully wiser) i get the less interested i am in conflict. i don't mind disagreeing with people in a civil way, but i definitely don't want to go out of my way to have an argument unless it's a really important subject.

You can talk about things indirectly, but if you want to talk how people really talk, you have to talk r-rated. i mean i've got three incredibly intelligent daughters, but when you get mad, you get mad and you talk like people talk. when a normal 17-year-old girl storms out of the house or 15-year-old boy is mad at his mom or dad, they're not talking the way people talk on tv. unless it's cable.

I just think of interesting roles to play. i guess that i have matured, i guess growing up and becoming a man, your taste in characters changes and i think i have become more interested in active characters as i have become less contemplative in my personal life. things have become a little bit more interesting in the doing these days and less interesting in the thinking about the doing.

I think, the argument sometimes that i've had with folks who are much more interested in sort of race-specific programs is less an argument about what is practically achievable and sometimes maybe more an argument of "we want society to see what's happened, and internalize it, and answer it in demonstrable ways." and those impulses i very much understand.
