If i have one message to give to the secular american people, it's that the world is not divided into countries. the world is not divided between east and west. you are american, i am iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. the difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. and the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. and our governments are very much the same.

If you start with the presumptions that liberals do, that corporations are evil and it all descends from that and that government is great and that government's there to make sure corporations play fair and are not mean and do not rip people off, there's a little bit of truth in everything. some corporations are bad, some corporations have done bad things, but as a general rule, it's dangerous to subscribe to things like that.

The liberal party of canada has no monopoly on public service, we have no monopoly on virtue, and we have no monopoly on wisdom.

I really am convinced that what is happening in media today is the result of the birth of conservative media and its rapid growth and ascension. it has destroyed the left's monopoly in media. when they had the monopoly, they could pretend that they were not what they are and get away with it. they could pretend to be objective. you know, the power of a monopoly is not just determining what stories you are going to cover, but what you don't cover is just as powerful.
