You have to stand up and be a human. you have to honor the man or woman that you are. respect your body, enjoy your body, love your body, feed, clean, and heal your body. exercise and do what makes your body feel good. this is a puja to your body, and that is a communion between you and god. . . . when you practice giving love to every part of your body, you plant seeds of love in your mind, and when they grow, you will love, honor, and respect your body immensely.

Consciousness will always be present, though a particular consciousness may cease. for example, the particular tactile consciousness that is present within this human body will cease when the body comes to an end. likewise, consciousnesses that are influenced by ignorance, by anger or by attachment, these too will cease. but the basic, ultimate, innermost subtle consciousness will always remain. it has no beginning, and it will have not end.

Acceptance is not a talent you either have or don't have. it's a learned response. my meditation teacher made a great point about the difference between a reaction and a response: you may not have control over your initial reaction to something, but you can decide what your response will be. you don't have to be at the mercy of your emotions, and acceptance can be your first step toward empowerment . . . for me, acceptance has been the cornerstone to my having an emotionally healthy response to my illness.
