The marriage institution cannot exist among slaves, and one sixth of the population of democratic america is denied it's privileges by the law of the land. what is to be thought of a nation boasting of its liberty, boasting of it's humanity, boasting of its christianity, boasting of its love of justice and purity, and yet having within its own borders three millions of persons denied by law the right of marriage?

Rap is hardcore street music but there are women out there who can hang with the best male rappers. what holds us back is that girls tend to rap in these high, squeaky voices. it's irritating. you've gotta rap from the diaphragm.

I don't even think of myself as a quote, unquote star - that's really douchey. i think of myself as just like . . . a dance commander. you have to have dance parties all day and night, and you always have to be excited about having a dance party. you have to have a dance party in milan one day, and then wake up and have a dance party at, like, four in the morning on national television in l.a. the next day. the hours are insane.

I am reminded of a story of lord krishna when he was a cowherd. every night he invites the milkmaids to dance with him in the forest. they come and they dance. the night is dark, the fire in their midst roars and crackles, the beat of the music gets ever faster - the girls dance and dance and dance with their sweet lord, who has made himself so abundant as to be in the arms of each and every girl. but the moment the girls become possessive, the moment each one imagines that krishna is her partner alone, he vanishes. so it is that we should not be jealous of god.

I try to really capitalize off of what other rappers really can't do. there are opportunities that rappers i love simply can't get, because... you know... i don't have the tattoos; i have a different image.
